Thankfully I purchased a smartwool hat for children previously and it was so small; should be for an infant... so I took a chance and purchased this hat for my 2 1/2 year old grandson and it fits him perfectly! Pathetic, actually as his head is not large; he's perfect! I am happy as I bought it for him, however I imagine others will be sorely dissapointed in the sizing.Please think it through. I think sierra trading post ought to try these on employess, have them comment and put the head circumfrance on the site for more information for customers to make decisions...not fair to get a child's hat for an adult and paying to return it!
