This is exactly what I was looking for. It's a cozy sweater that wears like a jacket. Flattering fit, with useful hand pockets that zip up. Unlike most Smartwool attire, this top runs true to size. I'm 5'4", 125 lbs, 34C, and I ordered a medium, my usual size in Smartwool. I think I could have gone ... Read More

I got this as a cold-weather layer for biking. It's comfortable and practical, with zippered front pockets and a warm zip-up collar. It fits well and is a substantial weight, but not bulky. Color is a nice teal. Only gave it 4 stars because it doesn't wash that well; even in cool water and drip-dried, the fabric is now awkwardly tugged around the front zipper and seams. It's still practical, it just doesn't look as good. Since I use it for exercise I'll need to wash it often.

Smartwool is an excellent brand, so I was hoping for this super flattering top. Contrary to what others tend to advise, I suggest downsizing. I wear a medium and this top was quite large. The only reason I didn't re-order a smaller size was due to the color being quite different in person ~ more a cerulean blue.

I think I could have gone down a size in this, but the slightly larger size allows me more flexibility in layering and works better as a jacket. If you want to wear this as a sweater or cardigan, then order your regular size and don't size up. The length is great, hitting me at my hips, so if your shirt rides up your lower back is still warm. I'll get a lot of wear out of this. Another big plus: doesn't wrinkle and packs well for travel. Very soft, itch-free merino wool. Definitely a keeper. A great transitional piece as we start easing into fall here in northern Massachusetts.
