First of all, I was tired and really should have been in bed a sleep rather than sitting up late at night online shopping with my teenage daughter. So it was my silly mistake in thinking I was ordering adult sized socks when I got these. I was so excited to get these and have a new pair of smartwools (my favorite socks ever) with a bee print (my favorite insect ever)! So you can imagine my surprise and disappointment when I pulled CHILD's size small socks from the box! But I do have a younger daughter who wears a size small sock so I tried to give them to her, but the ankle and up on this sock is very wide. It is a very odd shaped sock! I think we will find some way to repurpose them. Like I will make the foot part into a slipper sock and the rise parts I can possibly use as sections of pieced together sweater leggings type pants. They would fit well at upper calf or possibly lower thigh or at ankle for looser fitting pants, just definitely will not stay up as socks.

Both our girls wore these SmartWool socks during our last ski vacation. They have worn them all winter in their hockey skates as well, which are nowhere near as warm as ski boots! Whether a full day of skiing or a couple hours of skating on the outdoor rink neither is complaining of cold or wet feet. We have several pairs. They love the colors and patterns.

We are a family of Smartwool lovers, but these socks in XS were super disappointing. We bought these socks and the Wintersport Feather for our 2 year old daughter both in size XS. The toe box on both pairs of socks is so huge, it fits me! No joke. I tried them on. Her feet fit the socks lengthwise, but width-wise, they fit only through the heel and arch. Then all of a sudden, the socks get so wide, they look like a hammerhead shark in the toes! I'm not sure if this issue is limited to the XS size, but it's a huge bummer. We have some hand-me-down Smartwools in a similar size, and they are perfect! But it seems they have changed the shape, and there is NO WAY these fit any child correctly. In fact, I saw these on another child recently, and they looked the same ridiculous way. I don't know how that mom got her daughters to wear them, but mine won't even put them on for 5 minutes, let alone put them in her boots with her feet. They are obviously uncomfortable. Please fix this Smartwool!
