Nothing beats wool socks in the winter; especially for kids who keep playing when they get wet. Wool keeps you warn even when it gets wet, whereas cotton only sucks the heat from you. Smart Wool know this and produces great products.

We bought these socks for our kids to wear while skiing. They wick moisture really well and cushion the foot in ski boots well too. The only negative comment I have is that because of the excellent wicking qualities, the outer edges of the toes get slightly damp and this leads to cold toes. However, if my kids wore their cotton socks, they would be even colder toes.
