Verified Buyer Reviewed by ferrini from Shenandoach Valley on Saturday, May 31, 2014Absolutely love this jacket. Comfortable, functional, looks great, gives good rain protection but breathes so not hot in warmer weather. i have a dedicated shooting jacket but for sport shooting, this is perfect. That said, this jacket is a great everyday jacket for any use.
Reviewed by dos50 from Colorado on Tuesday, May 20, 2014I've just received the Smith & Wesson's Shooting jacket and it is just what I was looking for - a lighter weight and (hopefully) durable jacket that should stand up to abuse. The sizing of my Medium jacket and the quality of the workmanship are both good. I like that it has a lot of pockets - but I'm still wondering about the usefulness of the two sleeve pockets. If I were to nitpick - I wish the jacket was about two inches longer. At STP's price I feel this jacket is a good value. However, even though I like this jacket, there is no way I would ever consider paying the MSRP price ($259) for it.
Reviewed by OCULUS from Rensselaer, NY on Sunday, January 5, 2014Shooting gear, like motorcycle wear, needs to be cut in appreciation of the use it will get. In this case, S&W had a good idea to enclose concealed-carry pockets for both left and right-handed shooters, (caution, pistols will "print" through this fabric), but they came up short on the sleeve length. My XL (I'm a perfect 46 Long) was OK in the chest and very good with the gusseted shoulders (not baggy); but the sleeves were barely long enough with my 35" arms at my side… and very inadequate with a pistol or long gun aimed/mounted.
Otherwise, seemed like decent but rather stiff quality nylon canvas. If you have under 34" sleeves and take and XL, you're home free on this one.
Reviewed by CamoHuntress from NC on Monday, November 25, 2013This jacket has a ton of pockets. It is heavy canvas so it's perfect for fall.
Answer Sorry I don't know actual length but I'm 6'4" and it's plenty long for me. I have 35" sleeve size
Question “Hi, does this have any isulation? ”
Answer It's not really insulated but the wind protection is good so on a cold day, a vest beneath it is fine and doesn't affect shooting. I guess it also depends on one's use. It's not padded near shoulders like most shooting jackets so I don't use it for sporting clays or days when I'm going to take 200 shots. But in field hunting it's very good. All around, it's a good jacket.
Answer No, this jacket is just a shell and has no insulation.
