Took me a few days to decide on where to buy these smiths. This place had the lowest price I've seen and shipped fast. Couldn't be happier with my purchase. These are perfect for fly fishing

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Great Glasses - Great Price
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Michigan on Wednesday, April 23, 2014
I've owned Smiths for several years, and my old pairs finally were no longer wearable (glass lenses cracked, frames bent, hinge screws stripped). OK - I probably abused them. I like the Smiths for the optic quality mainly. I've had cheaper pairs that were not quite as comfortable, and I find myself reaching for the Smiths unless I just want a pair to shove in the backpack in case there's sunshine (I live in Michigan, so it's kind of rare).
These glasses are very lightweight compared to my last pairs that had glass lenses. They sit on the face well and tend not to try to exit off the end of the nose even if I'm running or looking down. Some temples press too hard on the side of my head and give me sore spots after an hour or so of wear, but these do not. We are moving to Arizona next month and I thought I deserved a good pair of sunglasses, and these fit the bill. Great quality eyewear, and at the Sierra price, I could afford to buy two pair. Thanks Sierra!
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Amber lenses
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Susurrus from North Dakota on Saturday, April 19, 2014
These are my first pair of non-gas station sunglasses, but I bought them after my previous pair lasted me over 5 years. I went with the amber lenses because I've heard people rave about them for fishing, sunny days, and cloudy days.

    Pros:
-So far, optically, these are flawless. No distortions, very clear, smooth polarization, and frame is invisible to the wearer due to large lenses.
-Lightweight and no strain on my nose even after wearing for long hours.

    Comment:
-I have a smaller face (5" temple to temple, and they fit as described in the specs). They are very square shaped, and look more like fishing glasses than the average style of Smiths. Also, thankfully, the white bar that shows up in the STP image is just a reflection. There is not a white design there.

    Cons:
-These glasses are very light, almost to the point that they feel cheap.
-The frames make contact all the way around my face (fit well), and actually form a pretty tight seal that causes fogging on cool mornings.
-The amber lenses only come with the reddish brown frames which look a little too flamboyant for my taste.

I would definitely buy another pair at the STP prices, but I do not think they feel worth the original retail price.
