This was odd too considering I'm not sure how the top of his head would have had any contact with the snow.

The only reason for a 4 instead of a 5 star rating is that it runs really big. I would say the sizing is more for elementary age kids than toddlers & preschoolers.

Unfortunately the rigidness of the bill makes the hat gape right where I wanted the hat to be firmly coveing the ears of my boys.
