I bought this to be on the large side so it could fit this year and the next and it looks like it will do so with ease. It was very easy for my almost 6 year old to get on by herself and it was obviously comfortable and breathable because she was able to wear it around the house without becoming overheated. We haven't had a big snow since she got it so we can't test it, but it looks like it's very well made and I expect it to easily last for the next two years. It's not overly bulky so she can easily layer other clothing with it.
