Reviewed by Hikerpat from Michigan on Saturday, March 1, 2014I already own a stove made by this company and it has been very dependable. We do not winter camp, so I cannot speak for performance below 40 degrees. I purchased this second stove as a gift. It is lightweight, easy to use and very compact. I did not spend the extra money for the spark igniter because we always carry matches anyway.

Reviewed by mrbull from colorado on Tuesday, February 25, 2014I was looking for backpacking stove as a back up when fire bans are on or a quick clean heat source. Have not used on the trail yet but have fired it up in the backyard, seems pretty stable, puts out a lot of heat so boiling water takes a reasonable amount of time 5 minutes for 20 oz. at 7800 ft. altitude. really like the stoves compactness. not sure of the fuel usage as have not used long enough.

Answer Uses either the small or large canister for these small backpack stove. Will screw on to either one.
Answer The previous answer is correct. Just to add ... a larger/wider base canister provides more stability. Snow Peak sells canisters under their brand -- a small 4oz canister as well as the standard size.
