I had foot surgery and was told to look for insoles that had strong arch support since I couldn't afford custom orthotics. I thought these would be a good subtitute for the Redi-thotics that I had gotten from the doctor's office. Unfortunately, the extra cushioning, which is awesome, doesn't allow for strong arch support. So if you truly need arch support for your feet, this is probably not the best. (I go with Redi-thotics Flex - blue). I do think that although these were a bit of a letdown for me, they would be excellent for most others.

They are much thicker and wider than I expected. Also, there is no guide line to aid in trimming them to the proper size. I've never encountered that in an insole. If I can find a shoe to wear them in, they should add lots of cushion.
