These are made for hiking, and they really feel like they'll take some good miles of use and abuse. They add a new level of comfort to my already comfortable boots, and are every bit as good as those pricier hiking insoles.

    • Answer The athletic insole has more cushion for impact, but they are both comfortable.

    • Answer Hiking and running are forms of the same activity with different cyclic loads. They both are well designed. The choice would be best to chose footwear for the intended use. I hike miles of rocky beach coast in boots then switch to light hikers to trek the trail home before dark. I use each for the intended task.
