When I first opened the package and took out the belt, I immediately loved it; for the way it looked and for the way it felt. Nice buckle and lovely pattern on the leather. On the inside of the belt, there is printed a description of this "fine Italian stained" "hand made and sewn in ancient China" which states that it is made with "revolutionary construction." Well, after about a month of wearing this fine-looking belt, I discovered the secret of the revolutionary construction: the nice thickness of the belt's leather is achieved by layering at least a half-dozen very thin pieces of leather, cutting the belt, and then applying some sort of plasticizer sealant or something that holds it together and makes it look like a single piece of thick leather. At the point on my belt where it bends under the buckle, and where the prong goes through the hole, the plasticky coating started peeling off and the exposed layers of belt leather began delaminating.
Very disappointed because this was the nicest looking belt I've bought in years.
