SOG Powerlock® Multi-Tool

I keep it on my belt all weekend or whenever I am hiking. It has an excellent feel of quality design and workmanship. Accessing and closing the tools is different than my Leatherman and Gerber tools but comfortable, once I became accustomed to it. The knife is sharpened only on one side, the other service is flat/unbeveled, like a chisel. I'm not sure what the reason for this is. The case tends to be difficult to get on my belt, and the belt loop is placed too low, so the tool tends to twist away from my waste. It has not yet fallen apart, though.

While you'll pay more for a SOG multi-tool compared to the competition, you get a much better tool from a design and construction quality standpoint. The compound geared pliers and interchangeable implements really put this product on a different plateau.

I use these types of tools a lot in my profession and the SOG works very well for a multitude of tasks. It is also easy to access the pliers with one hand. On the minus side the leather case provided for this tool is NOT durable and after only a couple of weeks of minor use the grommets have popped out and the case has fallen apart. My old Leatherman case is still in great shape after years of heavy use. Nice tool, shoddy case...

tool is on the heavy side, but its the easist to open the various tools. The cover is poorly designed,with a belt being worn on the bottom half of the cover

SOG could improve the riveting on the sheath. The first day I wore it I brushed up against something and one of them popped right out. Not sure I'll ever use the scissors.

I purchased this as a present and he loves it. It's a solid tool, though one of the handle covers falls off. Easy to put back on though. Blades are very sharp and it has a variety of functions. Very useful. Overall, happy with the purchase!

The SOG is a usefull tool, but I wish it was about an inch shorter when closed. the belt loop for the case is mounted too low and the knife rides up on the belt. Tools are good quality and the pliers appear to be strong and won't bend.

I bought this for my dad who is a gadget geek...very hard to buy for because he has everything....he LOVES it. I bought one for myself too for camping/hiking. I may actually buy another one to keep in my car. The picture shows a black leather sheath and we got brown leather ones. I don't care about that...but in case you do...

Great product. After hours upon hours of research, I have found that for people that really use their tools, SOG has one of the better products on the market. Have not had to use their Customer Service yet, but am not worried should I have to. Do your research, and you should find as I did that SOG is a tougher tool than its counterparts from Leatherman, Victorinox, Gerber, or Wenger.
