The spring aided opening mechanism is easy to use and has a safety to prevent accidental deployment. I use this knife everyday! Just the right size for your pocket. It is slightly heavier than the SOG flash, due to the handle scales (metal instead of plastic). But, the metal scales tend to make it very sturdy. My friends liked the knife so much that I had to buy 6 more!

This is a well made knife. It is very sharp and the handle is finely machined aluminum. The only criticism I have is the handle is small which makes it difficult to use the assisted technology to open the blade. It takes practice to deploy the blade quickly. The plus side of it being small is that it makes a great pocket knife. The clip is strong which means it stays on a belt or pocket edge without losing it.

Smooth action, right size to carry in a pocket. Strong lock. Clip doesn't work very well, snags trying to remove from pocket. This knife is designed and made better than any of the other assisted openers I have tried for about the same price.

Upon handing this knife over to two different people at different times, they immediately confirmed my own first impression: superior craftsmanship. The design is sleek and appealing (pictures don't quite do it justice) and the feel of the brushed aluminum handle is pleasing. Above all, the SOG assist opening system is awesome. Makes one-handed opening not only a breeze but addictive. I can see it coming in quite handy on the river when one hand is occupied with a fish, net, or rod. Smooth action and rock solid lock. I bought one for my wife and as soon as it arrived I knew I'd be ordering one for myself.
