Had one of these lighters for 5 years and it finally stopped working. For $6 the company will repair it and send it back to you as these things have a lifetime warranty. One of the best lighters I've ever had.

This is a great lighter - I got it mainly to go with my MSR whisper light stove. The lighter works great and the extendable nozzle is a great finger saver.

I was looking for a lighter with an extended nozzle to safely light alcohol stoves, but one that was not too long to fit into a backpack titanium cookset. This lighter is excellent and fits neatly into an Evernew 1.3L pot, along with my stove & other gear, because the nozzle slides back into the handle, making the retracted unit only about 4" long. It is also lightweight, so I would class this as eligible for backpacking lite (the gram counters may think it is an extravagance for ultralite backpacking but I think the safety of the extended nozzle offsets the additional few ounces in your pack for carrying this lighter). The lighter is refillable and has a sight window for the level of the fuel remaining inside. A nifty lighter to have not only for backpacking but also at home.

Worked for about a day. It's 2/3rds full, but doesn't product a flame, except after 20 or so attempts. Luckily it produces a spark that can light our stove.

Small enough to carry in your pocket. Extends out just enough to keep from burning your fingers.

I wanted something to light my camp stove that would keep my fingers away from the flame, and this fits the bill much better than the foot-long barbecue lighters. I wish the tip could extend and retract automatically, but I like it just fine as it is. I look forward to using it on my next extended outing.

    • Cons: Manual tip movement

    • Pros: Lighter tip extends
