I had admired these boots for several months, they seemed to be everything I was looking for - would look great casual with jeans or dressed up a bit with skirts, just different enough to stand out a bit. Finally the price was right and I took the plunge. I was so excited when they arrived and couldn't wait to try them on - they were gorgeous, I loved the color, the leather, the details, heel height, everything. Unfortunately, we were not a good fit. I knew my calves were on the scrawny side, but apparently I have a less than average ankle-to-knee height as well. They ended up hitting me right behind the knees and rattled around my calves even with jeans on. Would have looked ridiculous with tights. So unfortunately I am sending them back and will be sure to check the height and calf circumference specs on the next pair of boots I order. (for the record I am fairly slim but not petite - 5'6", 128lbs, so I was surprised at how tall these boots were on me.

I love these boots! I have worn them all day at work, around town, and after months of heavy use they still look great and are proving to be well made of quality materials. They fit me well, I have slim athletic legs, medium width feet with a high arch.
I get lots of compliments on these and they gray color is a nice change from black or brown.

Very comfortable, warm boot for frigid temps NYC has been experiencing. Quality is excellent and color is neutral that works for most anything. The sole is very good to last a long time. Highly recommended!
I happened to be wearing the boots today, so i snapped a picture for you of the bottom. The soles are rubber, but there is stitching. I hope this helps.

Yes,it appears to be stitched.I believe they can be resoled. It has a lovely thread stitching, to what type thread I would have no knowledge to share. It is an incredibly well crafted, beautiful boot.

Yes, it is stitched, the sole is stitched while the heel appears to be tacked on. Both however appear to be resoleable.

It looks as if it has stitching through the sole. I hope this helps.

Widest circumference is 16" - just below the top of the boot, to 13" at the achilles

On my size 8 1/2 boots, the narrowest point at the ankle is 11 inches and the top of the boot is 15 1/2 inches. That is measured with a sewing tape measure on the inside of the boot going from zipper edge to zipper edge and held snugly to the leather.
