I only wish I had bought these when I still lived in NH. Here in NYC they would be best for slushy sidewalks and those deep rain-wash rivers you often contend with in crossing the street because all the storm drains are clogged! The gusset goes up a good distance. I wouldn't recommend if you have a narrow foot as they are a bit wide in the toe(a good thick shoe insole from your local drug store could help with this),and traction on icy or salt treated walkways is bit tricky (as some may experience,as temps rise, that melted salt on a wet surface can be as slick as walking on grease). All in all, very happy, warm and dry feet = warm, dry and very happy consumer! Impessed with construction, so far... we'll see, since there's a big difference between traipsing through the woods, and walking on concrete, up and down escalators and subway stairs. Wipe your feet well or bring change of shoes before walking indoors, these things took me on an ice skating experience quite a few times until I got used to them. Otherwise, great buy for the price and hopeful to have them for years to come. I love Sorel products as these are my fourth pair of footwear from them. Long lasting and well made! Enjoy!!
