I work outside in -30 and -40 and these boots keep me warm. They fit well if you know how to fit a winter boot. The entry could be difficult if you don't get a big enough size, but they are a winter boot. You are supposed to get a size bigger to provide for extra thick socks and good circulation. I wear a size 10 or 10.5 and I got an 11. And, yes, they are a little heavy, but they're winter boots for crying out loud. If you want something light, don't expect your feet to be warm

I bought these boots for ice fishing during Northern Michigan's coldest months. I have yet to stand on the ice in them but during the cold days of breaking them in, they have been fine. I expect that worn with a medium to heavy wool sock, they will work perfectly.

Bought these boots in Cheyenne on my way to Idaho for hunting, broke them in in the field in some adverse conditions and was pleased with their performance. Camped at 6800 feet, low teens at night, mid 30's during the day. Traversed steep terrain above 7000 feet in both snow and loose rough rocks. Boot tread offered outstanding traction up and down hill, ankle support, achiles support, warmth and waterproofing. Gator offered good snow seal and held up well. A removable liner would have been nice to put near the heater at night to dry, but was able to dry just standing them up in the tent. The rear lug has proven to work well with my snow shoe harnesses. I have been impressed thus far, will be a great boot for snow removal and all around use in Northern NY this winter.

I bought these boots primarily for winter deer hunting. The late Fall/early Winter season here in the New England can be anywhere from 45 deg down to below 0 deg. I needed a boot with good support, traction & above all...warmth. I've typically used pac boots with removable liners but decided to give these a try because of their rugged leather construction.
Some tips for more protection & warmth in these boots: a proper application of sno-seal to the leather outside surfaces...remove the foam rubber sole liners & replace them with inexpensive felt sole liners typically used to add thickness to the bottom of removable felt liner boots (Sorel makes these)...wear a thin pair of nylon/acrylic dress socks underneath a good merino wool hiking sock...make sure you have room to wiggle your toes - I normally wear a size 11W, I needed a size 12M in the Conquest for the fit I wanted.
The only drawback that I've encountered so far is that they're a little difficult to tighten (& loosen) the laces - but thats it.
Haven't had any serious cold yet but I bet these boots can handle it...I can't wait.

I have researched these boots for weeks prior to purchasing. After trying them on in a retail store, I found my real size. (true to size) Great boot with traction and warmth. The real test will come at Christmas when I am in the Colorado mountains skiing and hiking. They look great and have the vulcan rubber bottoms. Thanks Sierra...
