    In selecting Sorel Ellesmere, boy did I ever hit a home run! They felt comfortable from the moment they slipped on; no break in needed. At first the boots were a bit loose, so I called Sorel. My call was answered directly and immediately by a knowledgeable rep who laid out several options and explained that, compared to lace up boots, they fit more loosely. I chose double socks for additional warmth and to take up the extra space. At 3 miles/day, combining exercise, music and grocery shopping, these boots have accumulated 30 comfortable miles. They may be heavier than other footwear I have had, but that is good because they work with the leg to form a natural pendulum to regulate my stride.

    only reason they got 4 rather than 5 star is that when delivered they were not Ellesmere as advertised but Ecorce. Almost identical and they're a fine boot.
