5.0 out of 5 stars. LOOOOVE THESE BOOTS!!!!
Reviewed by Smeggy from Philly on Monday, November 28, 2011
Personally i adore these boots! very cool looking, easy on/off, zipper works well (not cheap-o) I can zip them up or wear them zipped down, either way they stay on my feet but having very thin ankles & calves i choose to zip up so the circumference is smaller. although there is still plenty of room around my ankles/lower calves, the boots are flattering. they don't look stupid! this is amazing to me because i've tried on dozens upon dozens of boots and these are the first pair i've found that aren't lace up that look ok (finding good fitting boots is a problem us skinny-legged girls run into often. if you have chicken legs like me you know what i'm talkin' about)

I got these in dark green & they rock, such an awesome alternative to black or brown. and i just ordered the gypsy/gold color. I can't WAIT to get those!

anyway, i ordered size 7 and they fit true to size (my feet are dead on 7's) with regular socks on. I tried to wear a fairly thick pair of socks one day for a few hrs, and they felt slightly too snug this way but my feet didn't hurt. but if you plan to use these in really cold weather and want to layer up with thick socks then i'd go up 1/2 a size.

They really are waterproof, i tested mine in the rain on several occasions & they stayed completely dry. As for warmth, I am wearing these now in the fall while it's mild/cool. Although they are fleece lined, they aren't incredibly warm like my snow boots are. I would not expect these to be as warm as most snow boots, i think of these more as rain boots. (so I will probably not wear them out in a snow storm or sub-zero weather)

These babies aren't sold in the stores near me (i checked) and i haven't seen anyone else wearing them, but i've seen people stare enviously at them. So I say take a chance & order them, you can always send em back if you don't like them but you just might LOVE them :)

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Not sure how warm theses will be

High quality leather boot, super price for sorels. My adult daughter wears a child's size 3, so is very happy to find grown up shoes that run small. She is a college senior in wisconsin, and has to walk to classes and then sit. Really tired of wearing childrens snow boots and then her feet sweating all day in them before having to go back out in the cold. She asked for something that was waterproof, but not overly childlike or heavy. These fit the bill, very light weight, and a size 5 fit small enough that she can wear heavy socks and maybe just take off layers instead of carrying around an extra pair of shoes while on campus. She can drive in them without her foot swimming around and making it hard to switch from brake to gas, which is a problem for her in adult winter boots. It looks like these will last a long time, as expected from the sorel brand
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. 2nd Pair - Love 'Em

I bought a pair of these a few years back and wore them nearly every day each winter. They're cute, cozy, water resistant commuter boots. (Not meant for major winter conditions.) The boots are still in surprisingly good condition. I'm going to touch them up with leather cream and re-waterproof, and then they should look like new. I was thrilled to be able to find a 2nd pair in a different color this year. Hoping they last just as long!
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. lightweight boot

These boots are great for cold days walking around but I wouldn't use them as snow boots. They are lightweight and comfortable but do run small so you can't wear a heavy sock with them.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Superb in many ways

One has to love these boots: great footbed, comfort, flexibility in walk or job jogging, and able to keep
feet warm, water-free, and capable of getting lots of work done regardless of weather conditions, trail-turf, or
altitude terrain. Time will tell wether all of the seams and workmanship holds up in the Pacific Northwest -
rainforest to snowlines. So far, all is great!
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Good Weather Boot
Reviewed by Anonymous from PA on Saturday, January 25, 2014
This boot looks casual not dressy (nothing special), and the quality is apparent in the leather. I ordered a size 8, I am usually a size 7.5, the fit is just right (I read reviews which helped me decide the size). These boot were immediately comfortable, no break-in period. So far, our Pennsylvania winter has been cold with an inordinate amount of snow and my feet have been warm and dry inside the boots. Also, they are easy to get on and off, the zipper front is convenient and opens and closes easily. My shipment came in good time and the price on this close-out was well worth the product.

About Sorel

Canadians know a thing or two about cold weather, so it's not surprising they were behind one of the most popular cold-weather boots ever created. Sorel - founded in Kitchener, Ontario, in 1962 - is perhaps best known for the ubiquitous Caribou, a boot that pioneered the use of a unique material that reflected heat back to the foot. This reflective material was incorporated into Sorel's advanced four-layer construction process that includes a weather-resistant shell, wicking liners and ThermoPlus® felt inner liners to keep feet dry and toasty. Now nearly a century old, Sorel continues to meet the rigorous demands of today's active lifestyles - from snowmobiling to snowshoeing, sledding to skiing - with its highly respected line of footwear and apparel.
