No, I would not recommend this to a friend
“I have thin (though not much moreso than average) ankles, and unfortunately they are swimming in the upper portion of this boot. Consequently, the bottom part feels great (and true to size), but the ankle portion provides no support and causes me to slip out of them while walking. A shame, because they're nice, warm boots and I love that you don't have to zip them up...I guess that ended up being a downfall though. Wear a leg warmer with them all the time or send them back? Hmm...”
