On my foot, the seam where the boot joins the leather upper rubs across my lateral ankle. This may not happen on someone else's foot. Otherwise, a very nice boot.

Question “I wear a size 7, but everyone says to order down a size; would you recommend ordering down a size, even if it's a whole size, since these boots don't come in half sizes?”

Answer There is no bulletproof answer to this and it depends on how you want the boot to fit. I didn't buy them a size smaller! In my case a size smaller would have been out of the question. I was going back and forth on this one, too, and I would have gotten an 8, but I wanted the black ones and they only had them in a 9 so that's what I ended up purchasing and I am glad that I did. I am a true size 9/9.5 US which equals 40 European and that's what I bought, a size 9US/40EU and they fit well, with enough room for wool socks. If I would have bought smaller, I might have had less room around my foot (it is quite spacious with regular socks), but I am certain my toes would be hitting the front of the boot for sure. However, people with a size 7 might have a different opinion on this one. I hope that offers some insight, I am sorry if it doesn't, but I tried! Good luck!

Answer These boots do not list a temperature rating but with thick socks could be warm enough to trudge through the snow. The lining is a light to medium thickness and covers the whole interior of the boot to add some warmth.
