This review is not slamming STP, not by any means, in fact I'm only keeping this because they have treated me so well over the years and I figure I owe them one.

Now first off- let me preface by stating that in THEORY, this bike storage rack COULD work IF you have a stable of 13 pound and under small frame road bikes, otherwise, it is quite possibly the silliest piece of garbage that you'll ever see.

The metal portion of the stand is fine and is easy to assemble - NOT the problem.

The issue is with their "patent pending" (rotflmao) design, which is idiotic at best. I'd love to save the manufacturer some IP expenses and tell them to forget the patent and go back to the drawing board.

Were I to say that their "patent pending" cradling hangers are ineffective, worthless pieces of cheap plastic, poorly engineered and incompetently processed, it would be the understatement of the century.

The slots that the hangers slide into are not recessed, or cut deeply enough to adequately hold the hangers in place and furthermore the plastic is of such poor quality that it bends.

Therefore within a few minutes of hanging a bike (mine weighs in at 15.5 lbs) the hangers bend downwards and flop out of their slots resulting in damage to your bike as well as a loud "crash" that will most certainly scare your neighbors.

I attempted to salvage this piece of nonsense by using zip ties and duct tape (thanks Jersey) to reinforce the tensile strength of the hangers, but no joy, the plastic is simply too weak. Next step will be to purchase metal hooks and drill holes into the frame of the stand.

Despite getting this at a great price from STP I would NOT recommend this thing to anyone, not even people I dislike.

It's a good product, just a little light weight for heavier kayaks. I have two 12 footers that each weigh over 65 pounds. The rack holds them, but you can tell it's at its upper limit. Otherwise, quite well made, easy to assemble.

I have a few storage bikes, with as many bikes that I have, so I was intrigued to find this one at STP. It is sturdy with a solid base; larger than I thought it would be so I was please. Easy assembly and very adjustable.
