Just purchased this suit, in spite of negative reviews. Haven't tried it out yet; this is just to relay sizing info.

I am 5'7", 125 lbs, 34B (I mostly wear XS-SM or 2-4). I generally size way up in one-piece swimsuits because I have a long torso. This suit in 36 fits me perfectly, as I had hop... Read More

While I'm no longer a competitive swimmer, I still like a snug fit. Nothing worse than a loose suit during a workout! So, even though the suit feels tight at first, I like it. Great color, durable fabric. I'm a fan.

The flyback is my favourite Speedo style (actually my favourite fit on all brands) of all time. Only downfall is the new Xtra Life Lycra fits smaller than normal lycra. I'd consider buying a size up or just be ready to squish in a little for the first few times.

Love that it's lined through the rear end. Makes it extra durable and not see-through at all.

Overall the fit is good - by which I mean tight enough to be a racing suit. It just seems to run a little short.

  • “Would a size 40 be large enough on a size 14 body?”
Asked by Anonymous from Gilford, NH on 8/15/2011 12:00:00 AM
    • A 40 should fit a 14 ladies dress size according to the sizing information on the Speedo web site.

  • “please indicate what sizes are equal to?”
Asked by Anonymous from Unknown on 8/9/2011 12:00:00 AM
    • You are interested in a swimsuit for competitive swimmers. Competition suits fit much tighter than other suits because compression is essential. If you won't be racing in this suit, you'll want to go one size up for a comfortable fit. You need to measure your bust, waist, and hips. Sierra Trading Post has directions for taking measurements. Once you have the three measurements, use the Speedo size chart, also on the Sierra Post web site, to find the correct size for you.

About Speedo

A household name in most countries, Speedo has grown from modest roots into the world’s preeminent name in performance swimwear. Founded by Scottish immigrant Alexander MacRae in 1914 as a knitting mill, the Speedo line of swimwear captured its first trophy in a competition held in 1928. Since then, Speedos have won more swimming events than any other brand, worn by 52 out of 54 competing countries in the Montreal Olympics. Not just for athletes, form-hugging suits in vibrant colors and eye-catching patterns are seen poolside and at beaches around the world. Fabric innovations make their suits resistant to chlorine and mildew while giving them excellent recovery properties. Speedo is the pro choice for fit and performance, whether you’re going for gold or swimming just for kicks.
