    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    Fits tight for an XL, but I aDJUSTED BY WEARING ONLY 1 LAYER underneath, and it is fine. I am disappointed in it's breathability, however I can stay warm enough without a fleece layer in 20 degree temps. I don't think it is intended for much rain, but will likely shed sprinkles and light snow,

    The jacket is great for all-around use especially hikes and traveling (lightweight and you can pack it in small bags). For colder weather below 50 you need a sweater or other base layer.

    This is a great jacket for medium-exertion aerobic activities in cool weather. It breathes well, is very lightweight, and I LOVE the long arms and waist -- difficult to find for my ape-armed 6'3" build. Not meant for extreme downpours, but sheds light showers OK. For cool spring or fall outings, this jacket is hard to beat!
