    I returned this item due to the fact that it didn't fit properly. It's not advertised as being a hip-hugger cut, but it definitely does not sit at the waist as expected. If it really IS supposed to sit at the waist, then the waist is WAY too big and the rise is WAY too short...

    i like that unlike columbia and other brands, this one actually sits a little lower on the hips. not every hiker is 50 and wears there pants up by their belly button. unfortunately it runs a little large and with the addition of stretch to the material, it would easily slide down my bum with a backpack rubbing down on it. if u wear columbia brand 10 or even 12, get the size 8 in these.

    These shorts are a practical, quick drying nylon which I look for in a short. The legs flare out in a "skort" like fashion so are more feminine-looking than what you might wear for camping/hiking. The pockets while generous are not made to carry small items without bulging out. So they are more for looks than for carrying essentials. The begonia color is a sophisticated shade; not fire-engine red or baby pink. Overall very flattering style.
