Runs too big in the arms and chest. Will reorder for smaller size

I haven't worn this in the rain yet, but since it might not rain for months I thought I'd go ahead and give my impressions.

This jacket feels and looks and fits wonderfully. It's not stiff and heavy like many rain jackets. It even feels comfortable over bare arms. It has two deep, outer zip pockets, and two inner mesh pockets (one small for a phone, one large for a map). It seems to be very well made with lots of thoughtful details inside (that you can't tell from the picture.)

Best of all, it fits. I ordered a medium Marmot jacket that was too tight across the bust and in the shoulders, and I had to send it back. I considered getting a large, but I know that a large usually looks sloppy on me. So I got the medium Sprayway (a British company) and it feels great. Not snug anywhere. Who wants a rain jacket that's snug? I can even wear a fleece vest under it.

And since it's Gore Tex it should be both waterproof and breathable. What a deal!

I was skeptical of this jacket at first since I usually go for brands like Patagonia or Arcteryx. But after wearing it for a few months and putting it to the test, it has definitely grown on me. I was tired of the smooth interior of my last several rain jackets sticking to my skin and feeling as if they were causing me to sweat more. I also dislike the crinkly noise some of them make. I'm glad I went back to Gore-tex after many years of settling for the "new" waterproof breathable membranes. It really is still the best and creates a soft supple shell that is whisper quiet. The mesh lining is also a feature I've come to appreciate as well. Although it adds a bit of bulk to the coat, I think it's worth the cooling action when it is raining outside and you're sweating inside. The hood also has a small moldable brim that is a cool feature. It does not seem to collapse inward like other hoods have a tendency to do. I wear a size 12 and like the fit of the UK16. This gives me plenty of room to layer and nice long sleeves to cover my wrists even when reaching or stretching.
