I really cannot tell what i think about this jacket and part of the problem is that it is difficult to find info on it. Overall, i think that i liked it. Sizing fit big and the cut worked well for bigger shoulders/back. I'm 6 feet and 210 lbs. The medium fit me like a glove. It fell to my waist and the sleeves went to my wrists. The back is tapered so i longer than the front--i like it! I would have to switch to a large if i wanted to have a medium layer underneath.

My biggest problem is that this jacket is marketed with "Gore-Tex® Pro technology". The question is, what does "technology" mean? Does it mean that the jacket has Gore-Tex® pro materials or just concepts? I couldn't find any information about this online because the jacket is an older model.

    Pros
    -Gore-Tex® Pro technology?
    -Cut works for bigger body-types.
-Face and inner material is comfortable and light .
-Nice hood with comfortable fleece lining in places where your head will rub.

    Cons
    -Gore-Tex® Pro technology?
-Doesn't look like an expedition type jacket. Looks more like a light Gore-Tex® performance jacket.
-Weight is heavy compared to other performance jackets.

I thought I'd ordered a more tropical weight jacket, with side vents, but I'm not disappointed - it's a good jacket..

Typically, I look for rain jackets with a draw cord waist, but it has been nearly impossible to find this "parka" style nowadays in a jacket that is uninsulated. Living in the mountains outside Seattle, I rarely need an insulated jacket when I am actively moving in rain and, when I do, find layers much better for moisture and heat management. A draw cord waist has also been essential with most jackets, or they tend to move opposite of my motion, which I find highly annoying. I chose this Sprayway jacket because it looked like it draped well, but with plenty of room to not be constrictive. I also wanted Gore-Tex since I was tired of lesser fabrics not withstanding more than a 20 minute downpour without leaking. Colors that blend into my surroundings are also a plus for me (Not just to please my aesthetic taste, but for safety -- Am I the only woman who thinks colors that scream you are female from afar are ridiculous?).

I was pleasantly surprised when this jacket arrived that it DOES drape extremely well and the fabric is very supple and not at all crinkly. It is extremely LIGHT also, which contributes greatly to its comfort, with a mesh liner, so there is no clingy feel when you sweat. The Gore-Tex works like a dream, with excellent beading. I am guessing it will give me good rain protection for years. I should note that I did not get this for long hikes, since it does not have pit zips for serious exertion. It is great for my less strenuous outings, such as short hikes, walking the dog, etc. I will take it on hikes when heavy rain is not expected however, since it is a great stowaway jacket, being so LIGHT and folding so compactly. The only complaint I really have about this jacket is the zipper-- perhaps it is just my particular jacket, but the bottom of the zipper is difficult to get aligned before you start to zip it. It won't zip at all if it is not aligned, though sometimes will, although it looks like it is one or two teeth off the opposite side. YKK zippers never have this problem! But, unfortunately, this is not a YKK zipper.

I should also note that I bought this one size up so that I would have room for underlayers. I am 5'6" of medium build and around 140 lbs, so I usually take a medium. The large is the right size with a heavy polar fleece under it, however the sleeves are overly long for me. This will be good in the warmer months when I don't need gloves, but occasionally want to tuck my hands inside the sleeves (they are just the right length for that), but right now mid-winter, I have to cinch them tight with the velcro strap so they don't slip down on my hands. When I'm wearing it to run errands I solve this bunching-up effect by simply rolling them up, which actually doesn't look bad-- more like an urban-minded jacket. In hindsight, I will probably buy this jacket in a medium next time and use it as a light jacket during warmer rainy weather.
