Spyder Brag Ski Pants - Waterproof, Insulated (For Women)

Given that I have yet to ski in these pants, my review is based on wearing them around the house for awhile to see how they felt/fit. I must say I am impressed with these pants and their workmanship. The insulation feels substantially warm but not bulky (this is not slimline if you are looking for form fitting wear); I ordered an XL because I am never sure of the sizing - I usually wear a 14 and am athletic in build so it is often hit or miss in sizing. The waist is a little big - the pants do have a velcro side waist tabs that can cinch up the snugness and there are belt loops so that may resolve the problem. There is plenty of room in the legs so I don't feel bound into the pants. I have a pair of North Face insulated pants I ski in that I love - the NF pants have a big pocket on the thigh which is super handy for maps and maybe a flat snack; they also have side leg vents that go from mid thigh to just below the knee. The Spyder pants do not have the thigh map pocket and the side leg vents are much shorter - mid thigh to just above the knee so not nearly as much venting option. The bottom leg flare seems a bit wider than what I am used to - makes me think these were made for snowboarders as well. The boot top gaiters seem to be amply adjustable and the side zip at the bottom seems a bit shorter than normal-it's about 8 inches long. The back pockets have zips and then snap flaps over the zips and are quite roomy and will hold stuff if you want; the front pockets are nice and deep (no snap flaps). There are a couple different lift ticket tabs - one on the side, one above a pocket. Overall, I think this pant will be just fine for when I want to switch out colors! I bought these in Ivory - a little concerned about getting them too dirty, but oh well, that's life. I will probably not use them so much in the wet and mucky Pacific Northwest and use them when I go to the Rockies or more dry and sunny climes.

I went snowboarding in these pants and they were great. I stayed warm, dry and very comfortable. I did not even have to think about my pants and the length is perfect. I often have trouble finding pants that are long enough. The color is great and I received several complements on how cute they are. I will use these pants a lot..

Well I bought the large because that what was in stock I usually were a size 8 so I knew they were going to be big. In the waist they are alittle big but the legs are really BIG. My only complaint is that the bottoms of the pant don't gather. They are constructed well and have lots of pockets. The lining of the pant is really soft as well as warm. They move real nice and the vents on the side of the legs are important and nice when you are over heating. I find myself slipping in to them to walk the dog on a freezing day. I expected them to be big when I read the other reviews. I am not disappointed at all, I love them. Bulky But Extrememly Warm and Comfortable for Snow pants.

I can't tell you how much I LOVE these pants! I ordered them for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, but I also use them to take my dogs for walks because they keep me warm. They do run small, so my normal size 12 had to be a 14. FABULOUS PANTS!!!

Thoughtfully designed, good fabric that sheds water well. Cuff reinforcements could be a touch burlier, but overall a great product!
