The XL fits closer to a large - hence the "fits too small" rating. I knew that before I bought these, so it's not a problem. I'm 6'2", 215 lbs. and normally wear a large in Sypder pants. I ordered the XL and they fit well - I'd say in between an XL and large. (I like my ski pants to fit comfortably loose, but not baggy.) The finish and attention to detail are what you'd expect from top-of-the-line Sypder gear. Great overall engineering. Very beefy material and even beefier reinforcements on the insides over the ankles where your ski boots rub together. Even though these pants are heavy duty, the articulation pleats and design make them very comfortable. Please note, if you like lots of pockets, you might want to try a different Spyder line. The Davos have only two regular pockets and a third small pocket above left the knee. This is fine for me as I don't carry many extras on the hill with me. I haven't made my mind up about the rubber discs implanted in the pants over the knees. They add weight for questionable benefit. I would not let it stop you from buying the pants, however. I haven't seen an equal to these pants.

Why buy Spyder? Because it is simply the best quality gear out there. These Davos pants fit perfectly. They stretch, have kneepads, plenty of ventalation and pockets. The Spyder Legend Series is some of the nicest gear out there. However, it is very expensive, but it's worth it at Sierra's prices. Being that it's expensive makes it exclusive, or you just simply fit in like at Deer Valley or Aspen.

the latching mech. on this needs some work, the fly kind of sticks out, unless you velcro higher up but then the snap isnt aligned properly, but dont get me wrong this is a awesome pant that keeps you toasty warm or just open the vents to cool down.

Great style and value, the sizes appear to be off, my waist is a 33 and the 32-34 was too tight, reluctantly went to the 35-37 and it fits great.

Bought this bib to compliment gear on last of five weeks of skiing. 'Thought I would take a large, but that size proved too small in hip and groin area...so I ordered the XL. Bib was good product (good water-proofing and ventilation with thigh zips), but the snap over zipper on right leg hem came off the first day. No big deal, but I thought it was a little disappointing from a $500+ product.

I got the black pair as soon as I saw them for sale here to add to the red pair I bought over the summer-that's how happy I am with these bibs. Although you can argue about ski jackets (amongst Spyder, Phenix, Kjus, etc.) I think Spyder has the ski pants market cornered with these. I can wear them from 30s with the vents open to wind chills in the -20s with just boot length Hot Chillys underneath. Perfect amount of insulation and great fit-not too tight but not too baggy. I like how they repositioned the vents to be longer and slant over the front of your thigh a bit on this newer model-the prior year's vents were just down the side. Unlike some manufacturers, suspenders are included, and removable (although I don't know why you'd want to remove them for any on-mountain purpose myself). Of course, great looks from Spyder Legend Series and all the details (waterproof zippers have nice pulls that work well with gloves, zipper garages, large buttons, etc.).
