I ended up returning this because I just couldn't love the bright burnt orange color. For [$] (even if marked down from original [$]) I figured I should love it entirely. I did try it on several times over a week and it is definitely a nicely designed jacket albeit a bit quirky in its style. (I say that only because it has a slightly asymetrical cut, though that seems intentional, and it seems like it would work fine. Perhaps that is what upset a previous reviewer so much?) Loved the large and multiple pockets. The zippers feel really solid, the fabric feels thick and surely very wind resistant - thicker underneath waterproof layer than the cheaper jackets. Lots of bells and whistles I didn't really need like avalanche beacon reflector, whistle, google cloth. This is really a good buy for a Spyder. I don't know exactly why they are so over-priced, but this one at least does seem to be a very solid jacket (shell actually - no insulation) for extreme cold weather activities.

This jacket provides everything you need for big mountain backcountry skiing. I have had it for two seasons and love the stowable cargo space. The pockets to collapse due to the construction. It also has all the necessities such as Recco reflector, goggle pocket, chamois cloth, rescue whistle, and multiple pockets for access with or without a pack. If you ski with alot of "stuff" in your pockets this jacket will be quite bulky; however, it seems to fit well and look pretty slimline when they collapse due to the pleated pocket construction. Contrary to previous reviewer, I have been very satisfied with this jacket, its warmth, construction, and durability. Perhaps the previous reviewer received an irregular or misstitched model.

I have numerous Spyder jackets and other clothing. I buy Spyder because of their high quality and function.Spyder missed the boat on this jacket. The seams on the jacket are not sewn together correctly. They are in a big ill fitting bunch of material. There are different zipper pulls and the pockets are mismatched. The jacket should have turned out to be a great design. The jacket has the typical Spyder designs--4 front pockets, internal pocket, goggle pocket. However, it is a bad design. Two pockets are of seperate material that sticks out from the coat and the other 2 are flush with the coat! One side of the coat has excess material hanging over that appears to be a cantalever (reason unknown). It looks like a coat made from a kit after drinking a case of beer! They give you a giant pocket key clip that will hold 20 pounds of keys. Yet give you a tiny (being cheap) goggle cloth vs other Spyder jackets that give you a large cloth that is also designed as a sunglass case. The value and quality is not there for a[$] list jacket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
