The opening system on this knife is amazing. The action of pulling it out, opens it. This is perfect for an emergency situation where time is of the essence. I don't do white water sports any more, but this would the perfect tool for it.

I will use this knife for ski patrol work in winter. I will also carry it while kayaking and on raft trips. A sheath would be nice to attach it to a PFD. I don't trust the clip. That being said it is a solid knife and incredible sharp. Great product at an incredible price.

Just what I needed: this knife is lightweight, incredibly sharp, and it cuts through many synthetic materials as well as the usual fodder. I love that I can clip it to the inside of my pocket and forget about it. Most safety and hunting knives I've had in the past were either too thick or too heavy. This one is thin and light. Excellent price for the quality. The pocket hook quick-flip thingy is pretty nifty as well.

Awkward looking, kind of like a gangly teenager, but overall a fantastic knife. "The wave" feature works, and it works well. The blade cuts through fabric with ease, even without tension on one side. It goes through canvas straps (have not cut an actual seatbelt) with a flick of the wrist. Overall feels like a normal Spyderco, which I like.

This knife exceeded my expectations. The quality of craftsmanship is top notch. The steel of the blade is a notable upgrade from my old Gerber and the Emerson opener means that I'll be able to get my knife open with one hand. I like the blunted tip and the serration on the blade is absolutely sharp. The handle feels durable enough but the grip leaves something to be desired and since it's a lightweight material it makes the balance of the knife very heavy at the blade. All in all I think that this knife will last for years and be an excellent step up from what I've been carrying.

Good knife to have in car, within reach, if need to cut seat belt etc. Very good knife for EMT, Police Officer, Fireman etc. Duckbill blade allows aggressive cutting with minimal concern for cutting victim.
