The blade was sharp out of the box. Made in China though, which bothered me. It has stayed sharp, but, after a couple of weeks, one of the points in the serrated edge has bent a litte (this is from cutting a deer bone). However, for a Spyderco at this price, I would definitely purchase this knife again.

Decent knife for the money -- good heft, durable alloy, and tight craftsmanship for an overseas manufacture. The finishing on the blade leaves a bit to be desired, as there is a noticeable foil in the serrations which is difficult to sharpen out.

Even though this was made in China (most Spyderco's are made in the US), it's well put together and a solid knife. Very sharp. The action was a little stiff, but after opening and closing 20 or 30 times, it's smoothed out quite nicely. The belt clip is TIGHT. This knife will not slip out of your pants pocket when using the clip.

Spyderco makes great knives that are known for their quality. Bought these for Christmas presents for my partners in a business we formed. They are all prior Military and Law enforcement and can never have enough great knives !! These are some of the best prices I've seen for Spyderco - they don't come cheap !! You get what you pay for. My Mini Spyderco got snatched at the Airport after I retired from LE and forgot to take it off my keyring. Don't try to take one of these past TSA !!
