Verified Buyer Reviewed by Paddle in the Sun from Flathead Lake on Friday, July 22, 2016This is a great all-around board. Can be used by those with or without experience. Feels sturdy. Easy to inflate, although I would recommend getting an electric pump vs the pump that comes with the board. Very satisfied with my purchase.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Terri from Virginia on Monday, July 11, 2016I had never, ever tried paddle boarding when I ordered the Big Easy from Starboard. I had done some research on what makes a good beginner board--stability, length, etc...and I decided that instead of buying the cheap board from Costco, I'd look for one from a reputable company that I could afford. I also did not want inflatable since water access is easy from where we live. I grabbed the Big Easy when I saw it on STP since it was offered at the same price as entry-level boards from not-so-great board makers (it's a 2014 model). It's a very pretty board, not as heavy as I thought it would be. I'm 5'10, 155 lbs, and am 54...reasonably fit. I still expected the learning curve to be somewhat steep. Nah. Threw it in the water and off I went. Very stable, pretty manueverable once you get the hang of it. I use this in a creek off the Severn River in Gloucester County, VA--I have learned how to successfully navigate wakes from passing jetskis and boats and a little bit of chop and current and it's a great confidence builder. I love taking it out to where the creek opens to the river and jumping in then getting back on board. I look forward to taking it other places and eventually maybe into the ocean, but we shall see. For now, it's perfect for our creek and the quiet sunset paddles I've come to love.
