Steinbock Alpine Walking Coat - Loden Wool (For Women)

This reminds me of a duffle coat. The design allows for layers underneath. It is very warm and the material is of high quality. This is best for casual occasions as it is not shaped to flatter but to keep you warm and comfortable. A great garment with expert tailoring and lots of pockets. The hood is nice and is an integral part of the look of this comfortable jacket. It really keeps out the wind. The lining is quilted. Beautiful workmanship. I am surprised that it is so light.

It's a beautiful coat. I knew the sleeves would be too long since it's not a petite size but I like the coat so much that I'm willing to have the sleeves altered.

Coat is made of excellent quality and craftsmanship. For everyday use and travel. It runs a bit large. I usually wear a German size 36 and this coat feels more like a size 40. But since it is such a nice coat, I will keep it anyway. I suggest that you order one size down to be on the save side.

I wanted a classic loden coat and this fits the bill. The slightly lighter weight is something I actually consider an advantage: I had a Zug Loden previously that was great but far too heavy for all but the coldest weather. I'll likely wear this one more. Despite my 5'4'' height, I find the sleeve (and overall) length just right. Based on other reviews, I ordered a size smaller than my usual and it's a good fit. Altogether a beautiful garment and timeless design I'll wear a lot. Love the deep forest green color.

I really LIKE Loden and Steinbock is a great company, but this walking coat is too short and not quite warm enough even for a CA winter. Regretfully I had to return it. The Loden used for this coat was thinner than I expected, but overall quality was great.

Not as heavy as I thought it was going to be, hope it will be warm enough in cold weather.

not fully convinced : the tissu was wrinkled, and though it seems to be the right size I don't feel at ease. But it's warm and elegant.

As other reviewer mentioned, the green is darker than you see on the screen. I like the color very much. The size is very generous fit. I usually buy size 6 petite but I feel it is 8 or 10 regular. The patch pockets are too low position for petite person. It looks funny. Sleeves are very long. Ii is too bad I have to return it even I like all except for the size. It might be good over the heavy sweater. If you are going to ware thin sweater, I recommend ordering one size smaller. Over all, it is very nice coat.

This coat is Fabulous. It is beautifully made, drapes effortlessly. It is lightweight and yet as warm as my down parks. The sleeves were a tad long (I'm 5'1", size 6) but were easily taken up at the tailor. It is one of the best coats I'vre ever owned - scratch that, it's THE best coat I've ever owned.

This knee-length coat keeps me plenty warm and it doesn't weigh a ton. I have the dark green one, and it is darker than appears in the photo (which I like); the plaid inner is beautifully subtle. The cut is lovely -- there is a fair amount of room but it doesn't sag or look frumpy. The hand is terrific, both outside and inside. The only very very small con is that the zipper sometimes catches the inner placket when unzipping. I want to (and can) wear it pretty much anywhere, though. Don't need any other winter coat.
