I am really enjoying these binoculars. They are by far the best I've owned. However they are much bigger and heavier than my small ones, but that is the trade off.

I have used these glasses for both deer and elk hunts. They offer superb optics for the price, at dusk and dawn I get very good clarity. I would reccommend these glasses

As a previous owner of Steiner Binoculars, I am aware of past product quality and reputation. The 8.5x50 Peregrines have more than met my expectations for Steiner quality and performance. Made in Germany optics is definely an edge over other manufacturers.

This is the brightest and the most comfortable binoculars I have ever used. It almost has no CA and absolute no internal reflection, which is very critical for night viewing. I have enjoy using it for long period of time without feeling tired, very easy on eyes. The focus nob is very smooth with right amount of resistance. The price is high but not unreasonable. 8.5x seems low power but the real resolving power is much better than my other higher power binoculars.

Very nice glass, especially for the price. Outstanding construction, with nice features like attached objective covers and postive-snap strap attach. Glass is excellent, but to be honest I expected a bigger differential between the Steiner 8.5X50 and my 5+ yr old Pentax 8X42 DCF WP. I'm sure I'll come to appreciate them more over time with heavy use.

The Steiner Peregrine 8.5 x 50 mm binoculars are the best buy in optics today. The power to objective lens diameter make these optics ideal for most uses. Lower magnification binoculars are brighter in low light conditions, have less optical distortion and increased field of view. Their longer than average length increases optical clarity. I would highly recommend these to any military personnel going overseas. You can spend twice the money for Swarovski 8.5 x 42 and get the best or save $1000. and get the second best optic made.

8.5 Magnification provides large F.O.V., while 50 mm objective lenses provide large exit pupil and fantastic light gathering capabilities. Because of a 2009 Peregrine model change, this 2008 model can be had for half-price. I have 22/20 vision and this model will resolve more lines per inch than my eyes are capable of. This model is perfect for any type of observation duties regardless of how tough the environmental conditions may be. Resolution remains constant in entire F.O.V., including edges of lenses. Suggest an aftermarket strap system. The "ClicLoc" strap that comes with this model does not positively click in and can come undone under pressure at will.
