Steiner Wildlife Pro Binoculars - 12x30

I gave this to my husband as he likes to watch the hawks and other birds of prey near our home. He also takes it on his hiking trips to see the great views from atop the mountain peaks.

After opening the box I immediately took my new binoculars outside to sight in. While adjusting and focusing on a distant power line tower-top, a beautiful red tailed hawk flew into view quickly followed by another chasing it. It is mating season around here and these two hawks put on quite a show at varying distances from a couple hundred yards to over a mile away. I could not believe the clarity and color visible through these binoculars at all ranges. I had seen these types of hawks before in lesser glasses but never in the detail and brilliance as now. I am totally satisfied, especially with the light weight and great optics for the price.

A great compact binocular,I don't think you could ever a better set for this money.I will only buy Steiner from now on.Everything but the lens covers is very,very good.The only "issue" I can imagine would be is they are so clear and sharp so far out it makes the field of view seem smaller. They still out preform most larger sets by a wide margin.

The things that are great is the clarity of the glass and the lightweight design. I found them to be very clear even in low light. The only drawback I found is that the eyepiece cap is not meant to last, mine broke the very first day I put the strap on.

I have been looking for something more powerful than my 8x20 Zeiss mini binocs yet still be small enough to carry in a jacket pocket to a sporting event.Wow, these Steiners are the ticket.I love being able to see the expression on the quarterback's face from the upper deck at Ohio Stadium.If I see the QB preparing to throw I drop the bino view for naked eye as the field of view isn't huge but then the Zeiss wasn't either.Love 'em

Exactly what I am looking for; compact, high quality, and great for wildlife watching.

HAVE BEEN ON A CONSTANT SEARCH FOR SOMETHING LIGHT YET DURABLE AND POWERFUL FOR A DAY AT THE RACES. THEY FEEL WEGHTLESS AROUND YOUR NECK. YOU DON'T NEED BIG AND BULKY BINOCULARS TO SEE A LONG DISTANCE WITH RELATIVE CLARITY.
