Sugoi 42K Running Shorts (For Women)

These have a very short rise

Runner - really great pockets with velcro and really like the fly away legs.

I LOVE these shorts. They are so comfortable and loose fitting. They definately are one of my favorite pairs of short in just 2 times wearing them.

Great color (got the blue shorts); have really comfortable liner built in which is essential because the shorts are pretty short and move fluidly with the body

These shorts run very small, and are much shorter than the picture! Very unflattering for my body type. If you like short shorts, go up at least one size on these.

These shorts are incredibly lightweight! However, the slide slits do come up almost all the way to the waistband. These will be great on hot summer days! There's a built in liner, of course. I wore them for a few miles the other day outside over tights and they did ride up a little bit...but the fabic feels like the kind that won't chafe.

I have been wearing the Sugoi 42K short for over five years. Over time, I noticed that Sugoi has changed the styling. Where there used to be a row of three mesh pockets across the back waistband, there are now two slant pockets on the back hip with small velcro closures. While this seems somewhat less secure, it does seem to be a more accessible pocket placement. The other change has been the cut of the shorts. I always wore size small. Then, in the past two years, the cut got larger and flaired out, making the shorts look more skirt like- I personally hated the excess material. So, with this current model, I decided to try an extra-small. Now, they_are_short, but they fit wonderfully and are cut in a much more streamlined way without all that flappy fabric! Yay! If you have hips to cover up- then do not try this! Go for a short with a long inseam or that do not have the split outer leg. One other note: I also just purchased a Sugoi Moxie skirt in XS thinking that would work since the XS shorts fit me so great- but this didn't work out, I would've needed a S in the skirt. My waist is 26, my hips are 36ish and can wear the XS shorts (small would work ok, but I'm not modest and for my running purposes, less is better)- the XS is still totally comfortable, even the inner liner part.

These shorts are great for running especially for those with fuller hips/thighs. I love these shorts and am a size 8/10 (ordered a medium) but full through the hip and thigh. With the split fit on the side it moves so much better than a longer shorter that can tend to bunch between the legs. They are so comfortable and even though they are a split design I find them to be plenty modest. Highly recommend.
