Since 1912, Sutor Mantellassi shoes have been entirely handmade in the company's historic Bologna plant, using the finest materials, meticulous attention to detail, and the time-honored craftsmanship that has come to be known as Bologna Construction. Suede is created by sanding the lower of the two leather surfaces. It is generally softer than nubuck but less abrasion-resistant, and not as stiff as full grain leather.
