Got to agree about the smell : (

A great blanket at a great price, but as other reviewers have said, the odor is overwhelming and requires some effort to reduce it to the point that the blanket can stay indoors. After hanging outdoors all day on a sunny day, the odor wasn't unbearable so I tossed the blanket into the washing machine. Big mistake! The ENTIRE house smelled like naphthalene. I put the blanket through four wash cycles with detergent AND Borax, and added fabric softener with each rinse. I dried it with several dryer sheets and lit candles on both levels of my home to help with the odor. This worked. What a pain, though. After some use, I washed the blanket again and the odor is no longer apparent. I plan to buy more because of the quality and price, but this time will leave in the wrapper in the garage until the blankets can hang outside for several days in a row, perhaps in the Summer.
