I was planing a fishing trip to the Smokies and wanted to bring a back-up light weight rod. This became my primary rod, it has a great feel and accurate casting. The extra tip piece makes it easier to leave a backup rod behind.

Bought the rod last fall as a cheap backup, and finally got to try it out this weekend on a NC trophy stream (Davidson River). This rod is great - feels a lot like a Sage in that it is very light, fast action but sensitive tip. Soft enough to play the small mountain trout well, but enough back bone to handle the 20 inchers on the Davidson. I like the high tech finish and reel seat, and with the extra tip, this rod is a bargain. I own/have owned Sage, T&T, Scott, & Winston rods - this one is as good or better than any (except the Winstons). I am buying another 4 wt for my son.

I own a 4 wt and a 6 wt-- they are my favorite rods for fishing mid-Atlantic streams and rivers. Load easily for short casts, but can make long casts if needed. The 4 wt is great for smaller streams where short casts are the standard but a long rod allows me to control the line in pocket water.

I got a good deal on this rod. I lawn cast it and it was fine. I just couldn't get over the funky color.

    Didn't like the reel seat

No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I did not use the rod so I can't comment on its performance. The fact that two tip sections were included is novel for current rods. My problem with it is that the design and finish of both the rod and reel seat were just not traditional enough to suit me. The attempt to be unique went just a little too far in my opinion. I own a lot of rods and just couldn't warm up to this design.

I bought this rod (#4 wt) to be used on smaller streams for smaller fish. Have just fished it a couple of time but is impressed with the smooth action and the fun I've had landing panfish and trout using it. I wasn't looking for a casting cannon but this one still throws a #4 WF pretty well and further than I would ever need around here. I don't know how well it will hold up to bigger fish and longer term abuse, so it is four stars leaning towards all five.

This rod is not too stiff like many other rods on the market. As a result it is much more forgiving when setting the hook and playing a fish resulting in fewer breakoffs.
