The Tatami Almere runs true to size. I wear an 8.5 in most shoes, and the 39 fit well, with a little room and my toes sitting properly on the toe bar. The N (narrow) width is perfect for my narrow feet but would definitely not work for medium or bigger width feet. The black leather soles and straps ... Read More

I ordered these in 37 narrow. I usually wear a 7.5 in most other shoes and I have a slightly narrow foot. These are very cute sandals. The style requires your foot to hold them on by having them buckled tightly enough that your toes and the very front part of your foot hold them on. I don't know how else to describe it. In other words if you don't have them buckled tightly enough they may be harder to keep on your foot. That said when I had mine tight enough they were a little uncomfortably tight on the tops of my feet but have broken in and feel almost normal now. A few more hours of wearing them and they should be just fine. They are taking longer to break in than my other Birkenstocks. I attribute this to the fact the leather on these is more stiff and takes more breaking in time, plus the style requires a somewhat tighter fit. It is a very cute sandal, much "daintier" than the traditional styles of Birkenstocks. I think I'm going to love these.

Very comfy and very attractive. These are like very supportive flip flops that don't look too casual or too granola. The black footbed makes the difference. The top band is adjustable. I typically wear a 10.5 and the 41N felt right. If you have a very narrow foot these might be too wide. They do flop around, though, so I wouldn't walk long distances in them.

The Tatami Almere runs true to size. I wear an 8.5 in most shoes, and the 39 fit well, with a little room and my toes sitting properly on the toe bar. The N (narrow) width is perfect for my narrow feet but would definitely not work for medium or bigger width feet. The black leather soles and straps bring this Birkenstock up to date, giving it a less earthy, more urban vibe. The straps on the Almere are narrow and the buckles fairly low-profile, though not tiny. All in all, it's a pretty minimalist and feminine Birkenstock.

I realized that these would "flap" too much for me; I already have flip flops and was looking for a more secure sandal. Despite the great fit and quality, I returned the Almere and got the Aurora, which has another strap along the arch.

BIG fan of birkenstock sandals. Ordered a size 38 since my last pair were size 39 and felt too big [usual shoe size is 8]. Wish these were available in additional colors.

This sandal is beautifully made and an excellent quality. It is a very stylish sandal. The leather is a bit stiff , though, and needs time to break in before feeling really comfortable.
