These are very comfortable and lightweight, but they make me miss my old Raichle boots that finally fell apart after 16 years. My old boots had wonderful cushioning in the soles, and rocky trails were hardly more stress on my feet than pavement. Not so with these -- better than a sneaker, of course, but my feet are sore after a few miles on rough terrain. Another downside, if you like a roomy toebox -- these boots taper at the toes, so on the downhills you may feel a little scrunched. And they do leak in wet conditions. Upsides, they fit fairly true to size (I normally wear a 39; these size 8's are a 39.5), are very flexible, and get an excellent grip on rocks. So, if your feet aren't too sensitive and you like a boot that feels like a more supportive sneaker, this is a good choice. As for me, I'm shopping for something with a cushy but flexible sole, and will relegate these to smooth terrain or gardening once I have a replacement.

Very well constructed of natural materials. Tight around the top since I have large calves. Will be warm in sub-zero weather.

I am not a shoe girl with a closet of shoes. I am practical . . . but I LOVE THESE. Super comfortable and cuter than ugly Uggs. Well made, great traction, and really soft. I see myself wearing these for years. All that and STP's great prices and service. Love.
