Reviewed by LarryBear from California on Monday, June 10, 2013I traveled to New Zealand for several months last year and was introduced to Terramar underwear by a friend before I left. I had such a limited amount of space to pack cloths so I took 2 sets of black Terramar underwear. I wore them continuously for 3 months; washing them in a bathroom sink and letting them dry at night. They are very comfortable and still look like new. I don't ever dry them in a dryer. They dry so quickly a dryer is not needed. They are as comfortable now as they were when I purchased them. I have since bought more.

Reviewed by Viva La Vida from Kanagawa - Japan on Wednesday, June 05, 2013This shirt is awesome as a tee, if you wear anything over you're likely to have pit stains of sweat (which I hate) or I don't know, I live in Japan plus it's becoming Summer and the humidity is just unbearable so it might just be me. The shirt it self wicks out moisture like crazy and it doesn't feel clammy at all!! Keeps me nice and dry (as I said if you're gonna be wearing this in Summer wear it as a stand alone shirt!). Great shirt planning on buying some more soon :D

A quick wash in the sink and they were dry the next morning with no wrinkling. I've gotten rid of all my cotton tee shirts and save so much time every week now because you don't have to fold these shirts...just throw them in a drawer. Great wicking fabric and the fit seems true to size. With the many available sierra trading post additional discounts they are a great deal! The cheap store brands start at $16 or so. These are available at 14.95 with an additional %35 off? You can't beat that!

Question “How does the Dri-Release T-Shirt compare to the Terramar Coolmax version? Are there any functional, practical differences?”

Answer There is a difference in fabric. The Terramar Dri-Release T-Shirt is made from 85% polyester and 15% cotton. The Terramar Coolmax is made of 100% polyester. The Sierra Trading Post sells both shirts.

Question “I wear an x-large cotton t-shirt if wearing one casually. I wear a large cotton t-shirt if wearing one under a dress shirt. How do these fit post-washing? On the loose or tight side of things? I have a 44-45 inch chest, so looking for a good compromise.”

Answer I'd recommend giving the Large a try. I am a 43 and find these still have plenty of room but aren't baggy. I can't say what the XL is like since I haven't tried that size to check the difference. I have not had any shrinkage from washing either so I think the Large will be a safe bet. These are very soft and comfortable. One side note however, they are thin and the white is fairly transparent but no problem with the colored shirts. Good luck.

Answer I'd go with the Large. I am a 44+ chest and I have an X-Large which is quite loose even baggy so for slim fit under another shirt try the X-Large.

Answer Yes, it feels like cotton. It is one of the softest shirts I have ever owned. I am disappointed that the other colors still are not available. I actually own nine of these shirts. I started using them as undershirts and they are much better than cotton shirts in the summer. If anyone ever finds these in more colors I would love to know.

Answer Yes, more so than any other poly-dominant tech fabric I've seen. A bit lighter, though. Not like a Beefy-T.
