very comfortable, soft, briefs. not too tight or too loose. very well priced, compared with patagonia or ex offico products. have only used them a couple of times since receiving them, so no long-term information yet.

Far ahead of the whitey-tighties I grew up with. Quick dry and odor tech is the key, so they feel comfortable and silky smooth, not damp crinkly. Helps if back packing or traveling and want to wash a pair or two. I am borderline between Med and Large and go with the medium because I prefer the snug over the roomy feeing. Makes me feel safe and secure. My only complaint is that the ink marking the size gets impossible to read. I like reading the size when I pull them out of the drawer and knowing which side is out.

Bought these for travel. After hand laundering, they easily dried overnight and were exactly what I was looking for. Also very comfortable.

They are terrible in several ways. 1)The product description doesn't identify them as anything-but-brief UN_BRIEFS. They are the equivalent of those laughable granny's high rise panties. Although the waist fit (large) is right, they come up above my belly button and add unneeded layering. 2) Upon washing them separately in a sink for the first time, the amount of dye contained turned the water black even after washing them several times. If I had, after the first time, put them in with dark similar materials, they would have affected the color of those other clothes. 3) I am returning this pair and the 3 other unused pairs for total refund.

The fabric and construction of the item are fine. The fit is very poor because the waistline is 4 inches higher than it should be.

  • Question “Do these Terramar men's briefs run large or small for the size stated? From reading the reviews I get the feeling that many who ordered these briefs didn't either know their size or that the briefs may be too big or too small when compared to name brand briefs.”
Asked on 6/16/2010 12:00:00 AM by Bob from Philadelphia, PA
    • Answer These briefs have been measured to fit true to size.
Answered on 6/23/2010 12:00:00 AM by Customer Care from Sierra Trading Post
    • Answer I felt that the size ran true to other brands.
Answered on 8/18/2010 12:00:00 AM by Hiker Dad from Seacoast, NH
    • Answer I think they fit as advertised. Compared to other briefs I find they are about the same. Not knowing your size is another issue.
Answered on 9/4/2010 12:00:00 AM by Ralph J. Ramoflave from Virginia
    • Answer As stated in my review, these briefs seem really roomy at first look, and are slightly bigger that my cotton Jockeys or Calvin Kleins, but because of the nature of the fabric, they're comfortable. If you're a Large, I wouldn't order something smaller. I have a really skinny butt, and these briefs feel comfortably snug.
Answered on 10/15/2010 12:00:00 AM by Carloskid from Hilton Head Island, SC
    • Answer Out of the box, they appear to be a bit long, but they're a little stretchy and really, their bit of added length just makes them really comfy. I'm pretty fit with a small butt, but they are not droopy. If you have a big waist, go for the XL. I have other synthetic undies for their quick drying ability, and these terramar briefs are better than most.
Answered on 12/20/2010 12:00:00 AM by Carloskid from Hilton Head, SC
    • Answer My husband said they were fine for him and ran true to expected size. We also bought some Hugo Boss undies and they were small for the marked size.

  • Question “i am looking to purchase a couple for a 2 week backpacking trip. Can these be hand washed in a river or stream?”
Asked on 5/25/2010 12:00:00 AM by Flabackpacker from Unknown
    • Answer Since these are polyester they can be washed in a stream and they will dry relatively quickly.
Answered on 5/24/2010 12:00:00 AM by Customer Care from Sierra Trading Post
    • Answer I have washed them in a river or stream. Remember to keep soap 200 feet away from surface water (dump the soapy water in a sump hole). Yes, even biodegradable soap is still soap - 200 feet. If you just rinse them, you're good.
