base layer, primarily cold weather activities - in my experience silk is the best NTS base - this product is consistently an excellent value for this purpose, especially under a wool outer layer or wicking synthetic mid layer - THANK YOU

I typically wear a large/tall. I often get size XL to get the proper sleeve length even though it will fit loose in the chest/shoulders. The sleeve length is still too short on this XL size even though it is big in the shoulders. The sleeves are about an inch short but wearable. The shirt is otherwise comfortable. The light weight works fine in the mild winter on the Texas Gulf coast, the turtle neck offers protection against the wind and the silk fabric feels good and looks good. This shirt is not as warm as thermal underwear but makes a comfortable additional layer, especially with the turtleneck. I'm kind of a lanky 6 footer. I wish Sierra offered tall sizes.

The fit is perfect for me; not too snug, but trim enough to fit very well under a second layer. The neck is perfect too; not too tight. I love the way the silk feels. After having worn a synthetic underlayer for years, I'm switching.

I know of no other base layer that works better for skiing than "silkies". I prefer the turtle neck shirts for neck warmth. They are easy to wash and dry very quickly. They are very comfortable. I wear an older pair for sleeping at night in cold winter room rentals as well. You can wash them as you shower at night & thy're good to go in the morning. They would be great for any outdoor wintewr sports or work activities. My ski friends teased me for years about my silk stockings. Now they all use them.

This is a very lightweight, comfortable turtleneck. I would not rely on it for warmth but it makes a good base layer. It is not tight fitting but looks good under a shirt for casual dress.

I ride a motorcycle and started buying these silk turtlenecks to use as a base layer. The first few I bought were reasonably priced, and enough to keep me coming back; however, I have been more than disappointed with the last two orders. The turtleneck does not stay up, very droopy early on, and it gets worse from there. The product itself is as described, and I like the ribbed cuffs.
