Teva Butano 2 Sport Sandals (For Women)

These sport sandals are awesome! I recently purchased these for a trip to the Canadian Taiga, and they performed perfectly.

Function:
These shoes were purchased for lite "bushwack" style hiking. Essentially, climb out of the canoe and bushwack a trail in coniferous forest (road-less wilderness). I could not have asked for a more appropriate shoe. (1) When tightened these fit like a hiking sneaker. They provide stable, comfortable footing, with a lot of energy return. The closed toe and relatively narrow ventilation slots keep 90% of sticks, hemlock needles, and other debris out of the foot bed. The open back allows you to quickly remove any debris without kicking the shoe off. These performed in the water better than I anticipated. The sole provides AMAZING grip on slippery rocks. These can be worn very comfortably while swimming. I probably swam 100 meters across a bay and was pleased to find that these did not weigh me down or interfere with the flow of a normal kick. Once you are out of the water, with wet shoes, the sole does not become slippery or "gummy." This was a problem I had with Keens previously, so I was pleased this wasn't a concern. I bought them for the hiking, but they really impressed me while swimming.

Comfort:
These are probably my most comfortable shoe, next to my running shoes. The foot bed is supportive and stable. If cinched down, they are very snug and don't shift. If the cinch is left open, they are easy to slip on and off at camp.

Form:
I was pleasantly surprised by the appearance. These looked brown when I ordered them, but are actually a very appealing grey/taupe. That is, they are more neutral than brown. Because they have black, brown and a neutral grey, they will look fine with any color combination. I received a few compliments from other hikers during our trip, as to appearance. I bought them for function, but was happy to find that they qualify as "cute."

I really can't recommend these enough. I like them better than the Keens I've had previously, and would definitely recommend them.
