They were narrower than I expected but still fit well with a thin wool sock. They have a sort of pleat like goring to allow the calf to expand bit if you have narrow calves it kinda just sticks out and looks a little awkward. I tacked it down with a needle and thread and it seems to be laying flat now.

However, these boots are quite narrow, and seem to run a bit small. So, even though I have a rather narrow foot and shoes/boots fit if they run true to size, these felt tight across the instep and snug in the toe box.

So far these are holding up well to bike rides in the city, some rain and a lot of walking. The soles are sturdy enough to stand up to my pedals and comfy enough to wear all day at work. I've had a lot of compliments on them as well.

They were a little stiff when I first put them on, but after about a week they are well worn in. Really well made and the felted wool gives them just a little bit of added interest. I really like them.

A tad roomy, but no problem with a medium thick sock and inserts would fit easily - though I don't find I need or want them. I wear an 11 - but mostly because my largest foot is a strong 10.5 and they rarely exist, so roominess is never a surprise.
Finally, a boot that fits my hefty calves! I can even wear these with skinny jeans tucked in. I got the black with the grey wool on the back. I wear a lot of grey, so they're easy to match. I also like that they have a unique quality about them. These don't scream winter boot at all, but like others, I have found them to be warm - which can be tricky when it's not super cold. While I do think about it, it hasn't yet been a deal breaker with winter weather still in the 40's at warmest. I do see it being more of a concern as the weather warms. -

I arrived on the heels (no pun intended) of the near record breaking snowstorm, Jonas, so the city streets were full of water, slush and snow. The boots were up to the challenge. They are truly waterproof, have excellent treads and while not haute couture, they are stylish enough to wear to meetings, museums and restaurants. Indoors and out, the Teva De La Vinas were comfortable, even on my bunion and Morton's toe hard-to-fit feet. I have had a pair of the low boots for some time, so ordered the tall version with confidence when my old fave winter leather boots began to disintegrate. The boots will be just at home when I get back to Maine as they are here in the city.
