I haven't jumped in a puddle with them yet to test the waterproof aspect, but I plan on wearing them in Alaska all summer. I will definitely know if they are truly waterproof in a few months.

I ordered my regular size (8.5) and couldn't get my foot in the boot! I have a really high arch and the gussetted tongue didn't give enough to get my foot in.

Not sure how long they'll stand up to harsh rocky terrain but will find out soon. Note that they do run on the small size. I usually wear a size 6 and the 61/2 fit perfectly with a medium weight hiking sock. Literally no break-in time! I have a high arch and these boots do not but were still comfortable right out of the box and they seem well-made!
