Very comfortable as a walking shoe with a good balance of cushioning and support. Feels light weight. Only tested them by hosing them in the yard and wearing them around. They did drain water and did dry out quickly. Seems like a well balanced shoe for in or out of the water, or walking.

They will be hiking all week through water, and all kinds of conditions. The leaders have been discussing what footwear would be best--or more accurately, least awful--hiking boots, sneakers, etc. I researched and found that great water hiking shoes with smartwool socks would be by far the best choice, but they are expensive! When I found these we were so excited. He is wearing them a lot to get them broken in, and he really loves them. They are comfortable, have great traction, and he (mostly) likes the look of them. He hasn't gone on the camp yet, but now that he has these shoes he is much more exdited about it.

Reviewed by Larry from Wimberley, TX on Monday, May 13, 2013I bought them for a lengthy Utah backpack where we would be wading in water for miles. The shoes seemed stiff when I first put them on at home so I was worried about blisters and rubbing. Because of that I wore very thin synthetic liner socks with the shoes on the hike. However, I had no rubbing problems whatsoever on the hike. The soles were very grippy on slickrock and the shoes offered more support and protection than my water sandals. I put in at least 15 miles of hiking with a pack with the shoes and wear on them was very minimal. I liked them so much that I ordered a second backup pair for future use and a pair for my wife.
