Wonderful shoes! I use them at the beach, working at a coffee shop, walking, hiking, outdoor work, and more! Trendy, comfy and great for summer. They required just a bit of break in for a day or two and needed to adjust the straps to prevent any rubbing, but after than small little hurdle, it's been...

Great fitting sandal. Well designed and has nice options for fit adjustments. Comfortable for casual walking sandal, and already tested them on a rocky beach walk. The square toe has plenty of room for my wide feet and has nice arch support. Love the neutral colour.

Online sizing is always a tough gamble, because usually I wear a 6, but always upsize to either 6.5 or 7 depending on the activity I'll be doing with the shoes. In this case, I finally decided to go with a 6 because I wouldn't be wearing socks with these. It was a good choice, these fit really well with a slight amount of room left in the toes. The straps on these provide a nice tight fit. These will work well for an upcoming rafting trip where they'll get wet and then I can still hike on rocky terrain--they look like a break-in period would probably be good, but then these should be good to go!

I think I'll like these sandals once they are broken in. I made the mistake of taking an hour's walk in them and ended up with a blister on the back of my heel. I'm hoping that with a few more (and shorter) wearings they will give a little and be comfortable.

I have not worn these in chlorinated pools, but in fresh water and salt water. I think salt water is pretty caustic on footwear, don't you? If that is so, then they should be just as durable for water aerobics. And the prices are so great at Sierra Trading, you can buy two pairs for the retail price of one easy!

There is a portion that goes down in the back, but it is not totally enclosed as there are two vents on either side of it. It should be enough to allow an orthotic in though.

It's partially open in the back, as the strap does go around the back of the ankle. I don't know what type of orthotic you have and what you need to make it work. I use a taco for arch support, and I don't believe I had the ability to use it with this sandal. It is a masculine, sturdy shoe.

The back of this shoe is not totally open. There's a shank up the back that the velcro goes on the outside of.

I wear it with orthotics. It is closed back with two cut-outs

The shoe is not totally open in the back. There is backing in the center of the heel with two small openings on the side. If you look at the 'top view' the backing goes all the way down minus the two holes you see in the picture.

These sandals are true to size. I would not recommend going up or down a size. You can wear these with or without socks.

I ordered this shoe in my regular shoe size and it fits fine even with a sock. Length is true to size and it has an adjustable width.|I have a narrow foot but I think it would work for a wider foot as well. Hope you can still order your size. The color combo is perfect for wearing with blue jeans.
